Visit Our Harbors
Are you going on an adventure with Windy City Diving? Our dive boats include the 34’ powered catamaran, R/V Aquatica, and our 27’ Sportcraft the Wisconsin Clipper. Trust us for fast, secure, and comfortable rides to and from the dive sites. We limit our number of divers to six to make sure that there is plenty of space for everyone and their equipment. Our knowledgeable diving professionals have safety and navigational equipment.
If you’re unsure about how to get to our harbors, we’ve provided a handy guide on this page. See where we dock our boats, and prepare for a thrilling dive in the Lake!
The R/V Aquatica is located in the northeast corner of Burnham Harbor, Dock EC, Slip 2, 1362 S. Linn White Drive, Chicago, IL. The harbor is adjacent to Chicago’s Museum Campus, which is home to the Field Museum, the Shedd Aquarium, and the Adler Planetarium. It is also within walking distance of Chicago’s downtown area, so there are plenty of parking spaces and many opportunities to explore on land.
Directions: Whether you are coming from the north or south of Lake Shore Drive, exit onto 18th Drive and head East. 18th Drive will become S. Museum Campus Drive. It then becomes E. Solidarity Drive when you turn right at the Shedd Aquarium. Proceed toward the Lake, and turn right onto S. Linn White Drive. After about 400 feet, you will reach a stop sign at E. 14th Street. Turn right into the small parking lot to off-load your equipment, and then move your car to the paid parking lot.
Belmont Harbor Fuel Dock
Depending on wreck sites and traffic issues, we can arrange for diver pickups at the Belmont Harbor Fuel Dock, at the southern end of N. Recreational Drive.
Directions: If you are northbound on Lake Shore Drive, just after Belmont Avenue, exit onto Recreational Drive. After crossing the bike path, turn right and head south on West Belmont Harbor Drive. Pay for parking and head south to the turnaround. Park your car and off-load your equipment. If you are southbound on Lake Shore Drive, exit onto Irving Park Road and head east toward the Lake. After crossing underneath LSD, Irving Park Road turns into N. Recreational Drive. Head south, pay for parking, and then head south to the turnaround. Off-load your equipment and then park your vehicle nearby.
